Reception by personel was terible:poor english, unfriendly (few persons starting by manager of reception) Very expensive for price paid. For breakfast large choice but personel disputing between them, not profesional behaviour. It is the first time when I see something like this. Our 10 days holidays in Italy (Florence, Genoa, Tuscany, Milano) were fantastic but not in this hotel. Sorry because behind are people & familly, but something has to change.

Excellent in all ways. Great location, nice and comfortable rooms, friendly and discreet staff. Wonderful al fresco restaurant on 7th floor and bar on the 8th floor, great views on Mount Vesuvius. Quiet because the boulevard below is closed to traffic. Many nice restaurants just nearby in the harbor.

This was not a cheap stay but the hotel did not disappoint. We had a deluxe room at the front of the hotel with a fabulous view over a small marina and the Castel del Ovo where you can find many good restaurants. Breakfast on the roof was excellent, again with a fabulous view. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Bathroom was also large in marble with his and hers basins and good shower. The staff were very professional, helpful and friendly, we will definitely stay here again if we return to Naples
Most hotels now offer free wi-fi but the Excelsior is still charging. I paid €10 for a few hours.It was good that you can log in and out of this but really when you are paying a high room fee internet access should be free.
